Your parents' stories are worth more than any photo. We save them, in their own words.

A beautifully filmed life-story documentary, professionally guided from start to finish. You don't lift a finger; you just get to keep them, forever.

You keep meaning to do it.

You keep meaning to do it.

"I wish we'd done it sooner."

Sit Dad down properly. Ask Mum about how they met, what the old house was like, the war years, the stories that only ever come out in pieces at Christmas. You tell yourself there's time.

But the stories don't wait. A voice you've heard your whole life becomes a thing you strain to remember. The details go first, then the way they said them, then the voice itself. And there's no second recording.

Almost every family tells us the same thing after watching the finished film:

"I'm so glad we didn't wait."

No family has ever told us they captured these memories too early.

We're Storylines. Capturing
life stories on film is the
only thing we do.

We've sat across from nervous parents, reluctant fathers, grandmothers who "don't have anything interesting to say". Every time, once the conversation starts, the stories pour out. That's the craft: making it feel like a chat over a cuppa, not a film shoot, so the real person comes through.

You don't need to know what to ask. You don't need to worry about whether they'll be comfortable. That's our job. Yours is simply to decide it's worth doing, and then, one day, to press play with your kids beside you.

We're Storylines.

How it works

Book a Chat

Tell us about the person you want to capture. We'll talk it through: what to expect, what suits them, any worries you have. No pressure, no obligation.

We Record Everything

We send a simple planner to jog a few key memories, then we come to them (or host them in our studio) and guide the whole conversation. They just talk. We handle the cameras, the questions, the lot. Our interviewers are professional experienced journalists, you are in safe hands.

Keep Their Story Forever

We craft it into a beautiful documentary, weaving their voice, their stories, their favourite photos woven through, delivered in a keepsake pack and a private link to share with the whole family.

Packages

The Legacy Film: from
$2,990

Most families choose this

Their whole story, on film, forever. A relaxed 60–90 minute interview, filmed with two cinema-quality cameras, with up to 10 of their own photos woven through. Music, titles, and a finished documentary the family will watch for generations. Filmed in our studio or in the comfort of their own home.

$2,990 to keep Dad's stories in his own voice, for good. The alternative costs nothing; it lasts no time at all.

The Family Legacy: from
$6,800

The heirloom

More than one voice. Up to four in-depth interviews woven together with 20 photos and your own home footage into a 90–120 minute cinematic documentary. A proper family heirloom: the film that gets played at every milestone from here on.

The Voice: from $1,750

For the camera-shy

Some people freeze in front of a camera. This keeps what matters most anyway: their actual voice, their laugh, the way they tell it. A relaxed 60–90 minute interview produced into a beautiful audio keepsake, like their own personal podcast, with music and a personal intro.

We're Storylines.

What it feels like to have it

Picture the whole family around the screen. Grandkids hearing a voice some of them never got to know. Your own kids finding out things about their grandparents they'd never have thought to ask. The laugh you'd half-forgotten, back in the room.

That's what you're keeping. Not a video of them. Their voice, their humour, their history, ready to press play at every birthday, every wedding, every quiet night you miss them.

I was a little unsure initially but oh how wrong I was! It made me think about my life, important events, family & times.

Glenys Gayfer

"Dad said he'd only do it if we sat next to him. Twenty minutes in, he forgot we were there."

James T., Hawthorn

A Masterpiece of Memory! I am completely blown away by the treasure Storylines has created for my family.

But what if…

They're not comfortable on camera.

Most aren't, at first. Our whole approach is built around that. It's a guided conversation, not a performance, and within a few minutes they forget the cameras are there. If the camera really isn't for them, The Voice captures everything that matters without one.

They won't know what to say.

They don't need to. We send a gentle planner beforehand and our interviewer guides the whole thing. The best stories almost always come out of a question they weren't expecting.

Are they too old, or is it too late?

We work gently, at their pace, in their own home if that's easier. If you're asking the question, that's usually the sign to do it now rather than wait.

How long does filming take?

Most filming sessions take around 2–3 hours. We'll guide you through every step, capture multiple story angles, and make the process relaxed and conversational, so it feels more like sharing your experience than being "on camera."

Do we need to prepare anything?

Not much. We'll help you shape your story beforehand and provide simple prompts so you know what to expect. Just bring yourself, wear something you're comfortable in, and we'll take care of the rest. Our interviewers are Professional Qualified Journalists. The best stories come from genuine conversations, not memorised scripts.

The stories are still here. The voice is still here. All you have to do is press record, we'll do the rest.

A friendly chat, no obligation. We'll help you work out if now's the right time.
